    I already wrote about the Josh McDaniels stuff today but we wanted to talk more about it, specifically wondering if media people should quote someone they know is feeding them information that, likely, isn’t true. Is an on-the-record quote worth it if you know it’s a lie? What if you suspect it’s a lie?

    We talk about that, the dominance of the Patriots and get into a fantasy football ethics debate I’m going to write about later today.

  • Business News: Patriots Extend Naming Rights of Gillette Stadium Thru 2031

    I’m part of the Blogger Fantasy League. I’m on Team Gillette with Will Brinson, so you’ll see both of us sending this out post haste. It’s not because we’re sponsored by them (legalese at the bottom) but more because this is a really big sports business story that ended up in my inbox with the note “you can get this out before others have it.”

    Gillette [NYSE:PG] and The Kraft Group today announced an extension to their strategic marketing and business partnership that includes exclusive naming and sponsorship rights of Gillette Stadium through the 2031 football season. The 68,756-seat, open-air facility, home of the New England Patriots of the National Football League and the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer, has been named “Gillette Stadium” since August 2002.
